A Hope Refined

We can hope for many things, but if our hope isn't founded in a person- The Perfect Person, namely Jesus Christ- we will collapse underneath ourselves. Merriam-Webster defines hope as " to expect with confidence : TRUST" Some say Faith and Hope go hand in hand because one, Faith, looks towards past faithfulness; the other, Hope, looks towards the future with eager expectation. Let us Trust in the One who has our best interest in mind, even if we do not understand. A sheep will cry out when the sheers start sheering, but what the sheep fails to notice is the heat of the midday summer sun. I type all this out, and I am still learning myself to cast off doubts, and to Trust in Jesus, who is the most Trustworthy individual that ever graced this planet. Glory to Him forever.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in various trials / so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:6-7

Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; / perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

For You have tested us, O God; You have refined us like the refining of silver. Psalm 66:10 Our fathers disciplined us for a short time as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in His holiness. / No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:10-11
